14-year-old Jensi Kanabar Makes Impressive ITF Women’s Debut


Ahmedabad: Fourteen-year-old rising tennis talent Jensi Kanabar created a major upset by storming into the Women’s ITF main draw with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory over Shaivi Gaurav Dalal (Wild Card, Vadodara) in the final qualifying round of the ITF W15 Tennis Tournament.

The match was played at the SRT10–Altevol Tennis Academy, Ahmedabad, where Jensi displayed remarkable composure and maturity well beyond her age. Dominating the contest from the baseline, she controlled rallies with consistent groundstrokes and capitalized on key moments to seal the win in straight sets.

Jensi had earlier won two other matches in straight sets. She will face fellow Indian Bela Tamhankar in the main draw round 1.
