G1 Winner Tamfana to be Offered at Tattersalls December
2024 Sun Chariot Stakes (G1) winner Tamfana will be offered in the Sceptre Sessions at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale, which takes place from Dec. 1-4.Â
Owned by Quantum Leap Racing and trained by David Menuisier, Tamfana won the 2023 Prix Miesque (G3) as a 2-year-old and was a close-up third in the Prix de Diane (G1) at 3 before capturing the Atalanta Stakes (G3).
Her career highlight came in last year’s Sun Chariot Stakes (G1), when she defeated champion Inspiral by 2 lengths. She is set to line up in the Prix de l’Opera (G1) at Longchamp Oct. 5.Â
A daughter of the late Soldier Hollow and Zoffany mare Tres Magnifique, Tamfana is also a half sister to The Palace Girl (Aerion), who sold for 1.55 million guineas at last year’s December Mares sale.Â
Quantum Leap Racing’s founder and chairman Eamonn O’Connor said: “Tamfana has been a horse of a lifetime for us. We campaigned her bravely and she showed just how versatile and tough she was at every distance from a mile to 12 furlongs.Â
“Her temperament in a race is incredible, tractable, and willing to please. There are always mixed emotions when selling a horse of this quality, who has given the syndicate so many memories, but if we are to sell her, there is no better place than the Sceptre Sessions at Tattersalls December Mares Sale.”
