Luan, China – Ankita Raina of India, partnering with Priska Nugroho of Indonesia, clinched the doubles title at the ITF Women’s W75 event in Luan, China, marking a significant victory for the duo. Their dominant performance throughout the week showcased their exceptional teamwork and skill.

The journey to the championship began with a solid victory in the first round against the Chinese pair Meiqi Guo and Qiang Wang, with a score of 7-6(3), 6-2. The duo then faced a tough challenge in the quarterfinals against the fourth-seeded pair, Ya-Hsin Lee of Taiwan and Fang An Lin, also of Taiwan. After dropping the first set, Raina and Nugroho rallied back, winning 2-6, 6-4, and sealing the match with a decisive 10-3 victory in the match tiebreak.

The semifinals saw them overcome another Chinese pair, Jiaqi Wang and Chengyiyi Yuan, in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5, demonstrating their consistency and resilience under pressure.

In the finals, Raina and Nugroho delivered a commanding performance against Kristina Dmitruk of Belarus and Kira Pavlova of Russia. They secured a swift 6-0 victory in the first set and maintained their momentum to win the second set 6-3, claiming the championship title.

This victory is set to elevate Ankita Raina’s doubles ranking to approximately 180, pushing her ahead of fellow Indian player Rutuja Bhosale to become India’s number two doubles player.
