Dalibor Svrcina Wins PMRDA Powered Maha Open ATP Challenger 100 Men’s Championship



Pune, February 23, 2025 – Dalibor Svrcina of the Czech Republic clinched the singles title at the PMRDA Powered Maha Open ATP Challenger 100 Men’s Tennis Championship. The tournament was organized by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) in association with the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Maharashtra, PCMC, PMC, and PMDTA at the Mhalunge Balewadi Tennis Stadium.

The 22-year-old Svrcina had a strong showing in the three ATP Challenger events held in India, reaching the semifinals in Chennai and the second round in Delhi before securing victory in Pune.

In the final, Svrcina upset sixth seed Brandon Holt of the USA, winning 7-6(3), 6-1 in a match that lasted 1 hour and 29 minutes. After a closely contested first set, Svrcina gained confidence, striking winners with consistency and capitalizing on Holt’s errors to dominate the second set and claim the title.

With this victory, Svrcina earned 100 ATP ranking points and a prize of USD 22,730 (INR 19.90 lakhs), while runner-up Holt received 60 ATP points and USD 13,350 (INR 11.70 lakhs).

The prizes were presented by Mr. Rahul Mahiwal (IAS) of PMRDA and Mr. Sunder Iyer, Hon. Secretary of MSLTA. Also present were ATP Supervisor Mr. Andrei Kornilov (Uzbekistan), Mr. Rajeev Desai, and Mr. Sheetal Bhonsale, Joint Secretaries of MSLTA.
