Bhambri/Venus Fall in Narrow Super Tiebreak Loss at Toronto Masters


Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus suffered a heartbreaking opening-round defeat at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Toronto, falling 4-6, 6-3, [10-12] to the duo of John Peers and Jan Zieliński.

After losint the first set 6-4, Bhambri and Venus levelled the match by clinching the second set 6-3. In the deciding match tiebreak, Bhambri/Venus surged ahead to a 6-4 lead but couldn’t keep it. Peers and Zielinski held their nerve, reeling off the tiebreak 12-10/

The closely contested battle featured sharp net play and momentum swings, ultimately decided by fine margins in the super tiebreak.
