Fasig-Tipton Charts 550 2-Year-Olds for Midlantic Sale
Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 550 entries for its upcoming Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds in Training sale, to be held May 19-20, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md.
Recent graduates of the sale include reigning Eclipse champion male sprinter Straight No Chaser , earner of more than $2.6 million to date and recent winner of the Riyadh Dirt Sprint (G2). Straight No Chaser, whose victory in the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) is featured on the catalog’s front cover, is joined on the cover by 2024 grade 1 winners Sacred Wish , winner of the Matriarch Stakes (G1T), and Full Count Felicia , winner of the E. P. Taylor Stakes (G1T).
Straight No Chaser wins the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Del Mar
“Midlantic May is the only 2-year-old sale to produce an Eclipse champion in 2024 in Straight No Chaser,” said Fasig-Tipton Midlantic director of sales Paget Bennett. “The dirt track at Timonium continues to be the launching point for the careers of top-level horses both domestically and internationally, with grade 1 success on both dirt and turf.”
The under tack show will be held over three sessions May 13-15. Each under tack show session will begin at 8 a.m. ET. The Preakness Stakes (G1) will be held at nearby Pimlico Race Course May 17, and the sale will follow May 19 and 20. Each sale session will begin at 11 a.m.
“Our consignors have supported us with another strong group of 2-year-olds this year,” Bennett continued. “We look forward to welcoming buyers to Timonium in a month’s time to shop a strong catalog and enjoy top-class racing.”
The catalog may now be viewed online and will also be available via the equineline sales catalog app. Print catalogs will be available beginning April 22.
Fasig-Tipton will also offer a supplemental catalog and is now accepting entries.
