“Goal is to enter the top-20 in Junior Rankings in the next 3-4 months” – Maaya Revathi
Mallorca, Spain – 15-year-old Indian tennis sensation Maaya Revathi is making waves in the tennis world, currently honing her skills at the prestigious Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca. With her sights set on a stellar junior career and beyond, Revathi is preparing for a crucial fortnight of competition in Spain.
Revathi is scheduled to compete in the ITF Juniors J200 event in Benicarlo from March 11-15, followed by the J300 event in Villena from March 18-23. These tournaments will serve as key stepping stones in her quest for junior dominance.
The young athlete recently reflected on her remarkable experience at a WTA event, stating, “The semifinals of the WTA were very good for me because I guess that was a big heads up for me in my career, especially playing my first WTA and making semifinals. I’m really happy with that week. My career in the women’s also, I think it’s a big start for me.” This impressive debut has clearly fueled her ambition and provided invaluable experience against seasoned professionals.
Revathi has outlined ambitious short-term goals, aiming to break into the top 20 of the junior rankings within the next three to four months. “My short term goals are to make the top 20 juniors in like three, four months maybe, and to win a Junior Slam,” she revealed. Her long-term aspirations are equally lofty, with a clear focus on competing at the highest level of women’s tennis. “And the long term is to always be the women Grand Slams,” she stated confidently.
Training at the Rafa Nadal Academy has proven to be a transformative experience for Revathi. “To be a part of the Rafa Nadal Academy. It’s really great because I’m meeting some very good people and I’m surrounded by very good athletes and very good coaches. So I guess it’s a very professional environment and I’m happy to be in such a good environment and I’m really grateful that they took me in,” she explained.
The academy’s rigorous training and supportive atmosphere are providing the perfect platform for Revathi to develop her game and reach her full potential.
