Gregory to Receive Jane Goldstein Leadership Award
Amy Gregory, a prominent member of the Keeneland team for nearly two decades, will receive the Jane Goldstein Exemplary Leadership Award at the Horse Racing Women’s Association’s fourth annual Conference, Oct. 8-9, in Lexington, Kentucky.
Within her 45-year career in the Thoroughbred industry, Gregory joined Keeneland as Media Relations Manager in 2006 and was named Director of Communications in 2013. Earlier this summer, Gregory retired from her Director of Communications role, though she will continue to provide communications support to Keeneland during race meets and sales and consult on special projects for the company.
Prior to her time with Keeneland, Gregory worked for 18 years with Churchill Downs Incorporated, where she served as a Media Relations Associate, Director of Governmental and Regulatory Affairs and Director of Media and Investor Relations.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive the Jane Goldstein Leadership Award,” said Gregory. “Jane led with professionalism, class and a commitment to excellence, and she has been the gold standard I’ve sought to emulate my entire career. I am so grateful to the Horse Racing Women’s Association for this very special recognition, and thankful for its continuing work to engage and inspire women in racing.”
From supporting new outreach initiatives to attract new fans to the sport, to introducing new avenues to promote Keeneland sales and being actively involved in industry efforts to advance equine safety and welfare for racing and sales at the national level, Gregory has left her mark and set the bar for excellence in communications and media relations in the industry.
“The extensive reach of Amy Gregory’s work in the Thoroughbred industry is outstanding. It’s so very impressive to see how she has been a leader in multiple facets of our sport and beyond,” said Jane Goldstein, the award’s namesake. “She is a prime example of how talent, enthusiasm, and hard work can take women in racing to great heights.”
The award, named for ground-breaking turf publicist Jane Goldstein who was recognized for the inaugural presentation in 2022, is just one reflection of the HRWA core pillars to Engage, Elevate and Invest in the women of horse racing.
2025 marks the first year the HRWA conference will be held in Kentucky, and the excitement is palpable. Only 50 event tickets remain available. To purchase tickets, click here.
