2025 Gundagai Cup Runner Preview:

1. Secret Glamour: Hasn’t fired in two runs for the new stable and yes. hard fit and her best is good enough, but I want to see her do it.

2. Matthew Flinders: Sneaky chance at a big price. Track was too wet in the Albury Mile when down the track. I do like him on a firmer deck and will get across on speed comfortably. I’ve seen worse $61+ chances.

3. Baledon: I think he’s the each way bet. He ran in the Albury Mile and was another, one of many, that struggled on the wet track. Firmer footing for him, kind map and his best is clearly good enough.

4. County Kilkenny: Think he’s right on track for the Wagga Cup. He was strong and impressive when taking out the Albury Mile and looks suited here from the good draw. The one to beat for mine.

5. Semper Fortis: I dare say he is here as a tune up for the Wagga Cup. 2000m+ horse and resumes without a trial so I am saying he’s not here to play.

6. Duped By Spin: Sat on speed in the Albury Mile and was game in defeat, just no match for County Kilkenny. Doubt she turns the tables but runs well regardless.

7. Mathrin: Had the run of the race in the Corowa Cup last time but was still impressive in knuckling down late. Genuine mare who tries hard but just not sure she is up to these.

8. Unique Prince: He attempted to lead throughout in the Albury Mile and gave a strong kick but just couldn’t quite see it through when third. He’s racing well but just think he lacks the class.

9. Whisker To Whisker: I think she’s easily likeable given she does have a pattern of being strong at the end of her races and has good upside/improvement to come. If she can use the inside gate to advantage, she’s dangerous.

10. Blazerro: Didn’t do a bad job at Goulburn last time but not entertaining him.

11. Star Buyer: Ran over 1800m last week at Wagga and was one of the real eye catchers late behind Burgundy Girl. Lacks the class but will be strong late and can win.

12. Sturn Words: Didn’t fire in the CC Wildcard at Goulburn but was tardy away so forgive/forget. His best is good enough to threaten. Just well found in betting.

2025 Gundagai Cup $100 Betting Strategy:

$10 Win/$40 Place Baldeon, $50 Win County Kilkenny.

2025 Gundagai Cup Speed Map

Blazerro looks the potential early leader, but there are a few here who could take it up. Matthew Flinders is getting towards peak fitness and I think can settle outside. County Kilkenny maps well and should hold a forward spot, while Duped By Spin could press on as can Unique Prince.
