IND vs ENG, 3rd Test: Joe Root becomes 1st batter to score 3000 runs against India


Joe Root on Thursday became the first batter to score 3,000 runs or more against India in Tests during the third match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Lord’s.

The former England captain crossed the milestone in his 60th innings against the side. He also struck his 13th half-century during the innings.

Ricky Ponting has the next best record against India, scoring 2,555 runs in 51 innings at an average of 54.
