IPL 2025: CSK confirms Ayush Mhatre as injury replacement for Gaikwad; SRH brings in Smaran R for Zampa
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) confirmed Ayush Mhatre as a replacement for the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad on Monday, as reported earlier by Sportstar.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed Smaran R in place of the injured Adam Zampa for the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Mhatre has played nine First-Class matches and seven List A games and has scored close 962 runs from the same. Mhatre had earlier been called to Chennai for a trial, along with a few other domestic cricketers. It is believed that the team management chose the 17-year-old for his aggressive batting. The right-handed batter, who represents Mumbai in Domestic Cricket, joins CSK for INR 30 Lakh.
Smaran has seven First-Class games, 10 List A matches and six T20s and has over 1100 runs from these matches. He was part of Karnataka’s Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning squad as he contributed with crucial knocks in the knockouts, including a 76 in the semifinal against Haryana.
The left-handed batter joins SRH for INR 30 Lakh.
