Ishaque Eqbal Stuns 5th seed at ITF M15 Chandigarh
M15 Chandigarh ITF World Tour Tennis Men’s (US$-15K prize money Tournament is being conducted by Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) in its Tennis Stadium, Sector-10, Chandigarh from March 10 to 16, 2025 sponsored by HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited.
Top seed Jay Clarke (GBR) and 2nd seed Karan Singh (IND) advanced into Pre-Quarterfinals in Men’s singles. Jay Clarke (GBR) outplayed Siddhant Banthia (IND) 6-3, 6-2 in straight sets. Jay Clarke played high quality tennis and maintained his consistency throughout the match. In the another match 2nd seed Karan Singh (IND) won from Qualifier Filiberto Fumagalli (ITA) 6-0, 7-6(4). Karan took the 1st set 6-0 easily, in the 2nd set both players played high intensity game, finally Karan used his experience and closed the 2nd set and match in tie break. Ishaque Eqbal (IND) upset 5th seed S D Prajwal Dev (IND) 6-3, 6-3. 3rd seed Woobin Shin (KOR), 6th seed Siddharth Vishwakarma (IND), Stelan Vujic (AUS) and Vishnu Vardhan (IND) also advanced into Pre-Quarterfinals.
