M15 Gwalior gets off to a colourful start


Hitesh Chauhan and Raghav Jaisinghani advanced to the next round. The tournament got off to a colourful start.

The $15,000 International Men’s Tournament, sponsored by Round Glass and under the auspices of the Gwalior Chambal Tennis Association and the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, got off to a colourful start. The first rounds of the main draw singles and doubles were played today.

Deep Munim of Madhya Pradesh, who received a qualifying wild card entry, lost to Raghav Jaisinghani 6-2, 6-2 in a closely fought match.

Ivan Yutkin defeated A. Dudpadi 7-5, 6-2. Abhinav Shan Mugan defeated Ishq Iqbal 6-2, 7-5.
G. Lomakin defeated Parth Agarwal 7-6, 6-0. Suden defeated Van Donselaar 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Hitesh Chauhan defeated Aditya Balsekar 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-4. Raghav Jaisinghani defeated Deepmunim. M. Suresh Kumar defeated Kahir Warik 6-1, 6-2. Maan Kesarwani defeated Ajay Malik 6-2, 6-0.

In the doubles matches, Ishq/Gregor defeated Pietro/Adrian 6-4, 6-4.
Suresh Kumar/Lakshmanan defeated Arjun/Hitesh 6-1, 6-0. Aryan/Atharva defeated Siddharth/Medhir 6-1, 6-4.

The remaining first round matches will be played tomorrow.

Tournament Director Vikas Pandey, while giving more information, said that Gwalior IG Shri Arvind Saxena ji, ITM Registrar Om Veer Singh ji, Editor People’s News Shri Arpan Raut ji, Vikram Award and GCTA Secretary Shri Anurag Thakur, Tournament Director Vikas Pandey, senior tennis player Anil Chauhan ji were present among us as special guests in the opening ceremony of the tournament.
