Maaya Rajeshwaran Awarded $25,000 ITF Grant
Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Grand Slam Player Grant, announced by the Grand Slam Player Development Programme (GSPDP). The 16-year-old is among 65 junior and professional players from 42 countries worldwide to receive support for the upcoming season. She is the only one from India to receive this grant.
Maaya will receive a US$25,000 (~23 lakh INR) grant, which will contribute towards her international competition and development costs in 2026. The grant is part of the GSPDP, a global initiative established in 1986 by the four Grand Slam tournaments in collaboration with the International Tennis Federation (ITF), aimed at expanding access to elite competitive pathways for talented players from all regions.
Operated by the ITF, the GSPDP has invested more than US$68 million in player development over the past four decades, helping nurture the next generation of tennis talent. The programme supports junior girls aged 14–17 and junior boys aged 15–18, as well as emerging professional players.
Maaya’s inclusion highlights India’s growing presence on the international junior tennis stage. She joins a distinguished list of recipients who have gone on to achieve significant success, including several players who broke into the ATP and WTA Top 100 rankings in recent years.
Speaking on the announcement, ITF President David Haggerty praised the diversity and promise of the 2026 grant recipients, underlining the programme’s role in supporting talented juniors and young professionals as they compete at the highest level.
The Grand Slam Player Development Programme continues to serve as a vital stepping stone for players worldwide, and Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi’s selection marks an important milestone for Indian tennis as she prepares to compete and develop on the global stage in 2026.
