Maiden Pro Tour title for Aryan Lakshmanan
19-year old Aryan Lakshmanan won his maiden ITF doubles title by partnering with Filiberto Fumagalli (ITA) at the ITF M15 in Chandigarh organized by CLTA. Filiberto Fumagalli (ITA) and Aryan Lakshmanan (IND) upset 2nd seed S D Prajawal Dev (IND) / Nitin Kumar Sinha (IND) in the 3 setter match 2-6, 6-4, 11-9 in the Men’s doubles Final.
In the singles draw, top seed Jay Clarke (GBR) and 3rd seed Woobin Shin (KOR) moved into the final of Men’s singles. Jay Clarke (GBR) [1] outplayed Stefan Vujic (AUS) in a closely contested match 6-3, 7-6(3). Both players played top quality tennis but Jay Clarke played an intelligent game and closed the 1st set 6-3. In the 2nd set, both players raised their level of game and played a high intensity match and after 6-6 Jay Clarke played a mature game and used his experience to close the 2nd set and the match in tie break.
In the another Semifinal match Woobin Shin (KOR) [3] defeated Ishaque Eqbal (IND) in a 3 setter marathon match 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(2).
