Main draw action begins from today at M15 Gwalior


The International Men’s Tennis Championship begins today.

The qualifying rounds of the $15,000 International Men’s Tournament, sponsored by Round Glass and played under the auspices of the Gwalior Chambal Tennis Association and the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, have concluded. Eight players will advance to the main round from the qualifying round. The main round matches will be played today morning at 9:30.

The International Tennis Championship, being played at the City Center Tennis Complex, will officially open tomorrow, featuring the best tennis players from India and abroad.

Giving more information, Tournament Director Vikas Pandey said that matches will be played at the main gate from tomorrow. All the qualifying matches were completed yesterday. Their results are as follows: Aditya Vardan Dudpati defeated Udit Kamboj 5-7 6-4 10-8. Deep Munim defeated Aniket Venkataraman 6-3 6-3. Kahir Warik defeated Srinivasan Kodancha 7-5 6-7(5) 10-7. Raghav Jaisinghani defeated Pietro Mungelli 6-2 6-2.
Makar Kriashkov defeated Suraj Prabodh 6-4, 7-6. Ashravya Mehra defeated Aryan Laxman 7-6(5), 6-3. Adrian Arcon defeated Tarun Kara 6-3, 3-6 10-2. Freek Wayne Don Sellar defeated Tanush Ghildayal 6-4, 7-6.

In the main round, top seed Aryan Shah, second seed Siddharth Rawat, Chirag Duhan, and Ji Lo Makin will be among the renowned players.

The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held at 9:00 am.
