Pahalgam terror attack: Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi’s social media accounts blocked in India
Pakistan cricketers Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Instagram accounts were blocked in India on Friday in the aftermath of a terror attack that killed 26 people in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on April 22.
This move comes a couple of days after Pakistan’s javelin Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem’s handle was blocked, along with those of several Pakistani artists.
The Instagram pages displayed a blank page with an official statement — “Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.“

The Indian government has taken a series of measures, including the cancellation of SVES Visas and putting the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance after the terrorist attack.
However, the account of former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi (4.5 million followers), who had recently criticised the Indian army and subsequently traded barbs with ex-India opener Shikhar Dhawan on a social media platform, is still accessible.
