RR vs GT: Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes youngest to score an IPL fifty
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history on Monday, becoming the youngest batter ever to hit a fifty in the IPL.
Suryavanshi, 14 years and 32 days old, needed just 17 balls to get there, sealing the landmark with a cracking four over extra cover off Washington Sundar.
Suryavanshi shattered the record previously held by teammate Riyan Parag, who was 17 years and 175 days old when he scored a fifty back in 2019.
This wasn’t just a record-breaking knock for his age — Suryavanshi’s fifty is also the fastest of IPL 2025, and the quickest ever by a teenager in the tournament.
