Top 5 highest individual scores in Tests: Mulder fifth after South Africa’s shock declaration against Zimbabwe

Wiaan Mulder entered the top-five list of batters with the highest individual scores in Test cricket after South Africa declared its first innings on 626 for five on the second day of the second Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

Mulder, unbeaten on 367 off 334 balls, was on course to go past Brian Lara’s 400, but now sits fifth in the all-time list, behind Mahela Jayawardene’s 374 against South Africa in Colombo in 2006.

The 27-year-old struck 49 fours and four sixes during his knock, and also registered the highest individual score by a South African batter in Test history.
