Yuki Bhambri Secures Back-to-Back Wins Over World No. 1 Team

Yuki Bhambri continues his winning streak against the World No. 1 team! Partnering with Alexei Popyrin at the ATP 500 Dubai, Bhambri secured yet another victory over Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavić, just a week after defeating them in Doha with Ivan Dodig.

The Indian-Australian duo pulled off an impressive comeback, rallying from a set down to eliminate the tournament’s top seeds 4-6, 7-6(1), 10-3 in the opening round.

Bhambri and Popyrin got off to a slow start, dropping the first set 4-6. However, they raised their level in the second, showing resilience in crunch moments. The duo edged out the set in a tense tiebreaker 7-6(1), winning 17 of the last 21 points to gain the momentum.

With confidence soaring, Bhambri and Popyrin took full control in the deciding super tiebreak. They breezed past Arévalo and Pavić 10-3, sealing a statement victory without much trouble.

This win marks Bhambri’s second consecutive victory over the top-ranked doubles team in as many weeks. At the ATP 250 Doha, he teamed up with Ivan Dodig to defeat the same pair, proving his growing dominance in the doubles circuit.

With a strong start in Dubai, Bhambri and Popyrin will look to carry this momentum forward as they aim for a deep run in the tournament.
